i am interested in how well this has held up for you since you have had an opportunity to try it out in different conditions. i am concerned that without a piece of support on the inside your roof material would not be able to take the stress and eventually start to crack. i think even thin aluminum flat bar would be sufficient. take care.

I'm also in Texas and with this weather right now, I wouldn't dare. Looks kind of restrictive IMO. You might not feel it but, your fan its probably working harder to keep the engine at temperature.
